Today we had a project workshop at the Hackney Archives. It was great to come here and experience the difference from the Tower Hamlets Archives. Some of us remembered coming to the old Hackney Archives when it was in De Beauvoir Town. This is a very new facility and we all got to know how to access the material and research as effectively as possible! We found some interesting photographs but by far the biggest outcome of the day was the discussion around archives all in all…
It was little known that you can pretty much go to any local archive. You’ll need to bring ID with you and only pencils! Other than that, some patience, time and you will have some exciting history at your fingertips. We all said we would mention this to at least sone person we know so that they would spread the word about these free services on our doorstep.
You never know what you’ll ind in there!
