We were lucky enough to have the experts come in and train us in oral history interviews back in April. It was a great eye opening experience, we asked lots of questions, carried out lots of practice and then keen to see what Eastside have in their archives too!
There are so many recordings there was not much point to go through any. The purpose was really to see how a professional organisation collects and catalogues this much material. There experience with community oral histories in east London is second to none. Their projects are always interesting and varied and they have a great way of engaging with a range of volunteers.
